Taking a Break...

Hey Guys,
Me here! I'm writing to say that I'm going to not critique the auditions. My schedule just doesn't allow for enough time on top of the fact that its been a very trying few weeks and I don't have the energy or time to blog right now.
I'm over all of the schedule disruptions and I'm just in a super grumpy place right now. Makes me think that Nigel was unsuccessful in revitalizing the results show. :/
Gonna try and catch last night's show (it did NOT record on my DVR) and may add some notes.

So You Think You Can Dance: Season 10 Auditions #3 & #4

Hey everyone!
I was able to watch last nights episode quick before bed but haven't been able to blog it out yet.

Apparently there's some Master Chef finale - gross - so there's no sytycd tonight. Anger. So no new episode until next week. :(

Next week I'll have one live day and one non-live again, at this point. Sorry.

Peace Out!
Jaz

P.S. Loved Hampton's audition as well as the sweet bone breaker who had the stutter. You guys; when he said that he dances to speak - I bawled!

So You Think You Can Dance: Season 10 (Weekend One)

Hey Guys!
So I have some exciting news to report!
I created a video of all So You Think You Can Dance's past season winners, that shows a clip of their auditions & then a clip of them winning and I uploaded it last night. Just like my Cyrus video, people seem to be pretty excited about it - but I gained one fan that's worth boasting about.

Benji Schwimmer! :)

After tweeting the video out to some of the highlighted winners, Benji not only favorited and retweeted the video, but also said that he "loves this!!!" I'm rather excited about it! :)

Here's the link to the video if you'd like to watch! :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkGcPzMHACw

I'm going to be re-watching the auditions today and getting songs & names, so expect there to be an update to the reviews pretty soon here.

Thanks guys! :)

So You Think You Can Dance: Season 10-2

Hey Guys,

So I wasn’t originally going to redo this review, but after seeing how jarbled my notes were I decided to redo it.

Love Twitch, he’s our guest judge and I’m so excited, I love him.

We’re starting the day out with a pop-locker/animator who is decent. His name is Jade Zuberi. As far as animation goes, he’s no Cyrus obviously, but his locking is pretty good, and his Isos are out of this world. I like him, I’ll be interested to see what he does next. He wasn’t super entertaining to me but his talent was certainly there. He gets a standing O from the judges and I don’t know about all that, but he’s through to Vegas which makes sense I guess. Twitch saying it’s one of the best auditions he’s ever seen, I think he’s reaching he’s good, but there have been several better. The song he danced to is called “Steam Forest” by Andreas Vollenweider – an interesting choice for a Popper.

Next up we have Amy Yakima, I love the credit she gives to her dad. So often it’s just assumed that dance is feminine only, so I love that she gives credit to her father. DAD JAZZ! I am SO in love! He’s very excited to participate. Lol! He’s cracking me up. Amy is a dumplin! J

Okay – enough fun, let’s see how Amy is. Oh – brilliant. She’s amazing! Her lines are GORGEOUS! Oh! Her Dad is wiped out with his baby! I love that. Mom’s get too much of the credit! It’s the year of the supportive Dads!! The song she dances too is a very famous French song called “Je Suis Malade” by Lara Fabian. I explained to my sister that she’s like the Celine Dion of France. Amy of course goes right through to Vegas. Love that Nigel is annoyed by perfection. We know Nigel, we know.

One thing that they showed during the commercial break is that gas has gone up to $4.25 where I live. You guys, stop the madness. $4.25 seriously!? I just can’t!

Um, so this next guy. No me gusta. If you’ve read my critiques before you know that the only thing I hate more than bad hip-hop is arrogance, so, not okay. Twitch is a good sport about being called out by this arrogant man. I feel bad because he recently lost someone, may she rest in peace, I do not like Morgan Williams. I hate this song, but it’s called “Goodbye My Lover” by James Blunt. The judges send him to Vegas, well Mary does – I agree with Nigel. Should have been sent to Choreo. Obviously his talent is there, but he’s so arrogant. :P

Detroit Jit – let’s see what they got. So far it looks like a lot of flailing, not sure how I feel. Will Green certainly knows his stuff. He throws out a few big name dances. Love him trying to teach Cat to do it. It’s filling my heart, and I think that I like this Will character. J So this dance that he’s doing isn’t super skillful, but he certainly is fun looking! Lol! My mom said that if you saw him in the club you would wanna dance next to him!! J His pin drop was okay. Uh, so song wise I’m finding a song called “Rez” by Underworld.

UH OH! Mary wants to get her Hip Roll on! Lol! J

Can’t shazam the song he hip rolls too because there’s too much background noise. If anyone knows it, let me know! J They send Will to choreo based on his showmanship, a good choice I think.

Uh is ANYONE else excited to see After Earth because I sure am!

Now Twitch is gonna dance, I’m gonna see if I can get the song this time. Twitch is SO sick! The song is called Ripple (Vip) by Liquid Stranger. I love it! So for those of you that missed it, that was also the song Will Green Hip Rolled too.

Um, whenever you say things like “my style is pretty much panic” or “I have no idea what I’m doing half the time.” Hilarious. Thank the Lord for Garrett Frye. He’s so sweet. Just someone that loves to dance. Can’t do it a lick, but we’re gonna watch him any way. He dances to Yeah x3 by Chris Brown. Sweet Jesus I love this man. He’s so sweet. The judges clearly love on him. Straight perfection. I have the biggest smile on my face! J

So we’re up to the Choreo round, and it would appear as though Will is going to do, not the choreography at all. Nigel stops him angrily. He’s right, but I feel he was a little harsh. He doesn’t know. Please come back Will Green!!

Some more friends to Choreo and we’re onto day 2.

Sweet Jesus this Tapper is A-Dor-A-Ble. As is his grandmother. Oh my God you guys he is incredible. The best tapper we’ve had. My mom questions if he’s better than Jess from Season 8. I said, even if Jess matched the amazing Tyrone Cobham Jr. in skill, which I don’t think he does, Jess was never this charismatic, in fact, you may remember, Jess often came off both stiff and arrogant. Love Tyrone, he’s is my first official call for the Top 20.

I’LL MARK IT HERE IN GOLD! TYRONE FOR THE TOP 20!!

He danced to a brilliant piece of Jazz called “How High The Moon” by Art Tatum.

The audience gives him a standing O, which is well deserved and he goes to Vegas, no question. Mary says it’s the best tap audition we’ve seen in 10 seasons, certainly no complaints over here. He’s very emotional. I love him.

I love this cute supportive families section, I love the grandmother. AND am I finally gonna get my hip hop girl!? We haven’t had one since season 3.

Oh… no, I’m not. She’s horrible.

OMG Gangnam Grandma. Kill me now, she is the best! Lol!! I love her! The judges groove with her and clearly the hip hop girl doesn’t go through. Good. Lol!

So with our last few minutes we get a group of male exotic dancers, and they are making me giggle. The guy who said he does it for fun and funds – omg – he’s clearly a clown, he’s kind of cheesy and trying to make this his big break, but Darryl “Smilez” Harrell needs to stick to his day job, or night job rather. Uh again I can’t get the song, if you know it, please tell me. They save his decision for the end when they all finish performing. My dad walked through and asked if he was having a seizure.

So far the other three members of his “group” are, NOT good.

They give DeFonte “Prince Charming” Harris his own section. He’s the only one with any notable talent. He’s not amazing or anything, but he seems to be the only one with any real dance skill. Same song thing happening. It’s hilarious, sometimes when I try and Shazam a song, the answer it gives me is “So You Think You Can Dance Audition #2” oh thanks Shazam, I was unaware. Geez.

The judges invite Darryl and DeFonte to the choreography round, and that’s the end of the auditions.

Darryl says the steps are simple but in the time frame it’s hard. Yeah right Darryl, you aint got this crap and neither does your female partner. I’m pleasantly surprised with DeFonte however, and the judges pull a fast one, the first bad one of the season. Poor DeFonte. They invite him to Vegas, which makes sense because he seemed to do fairly well in the Choreo round.

Next week we’re going to Austin with Mimi Driver. Mary’s hair looks OUTRAGEOUS.

HAMPTON is back with his sweet little girl! Can’t wait. Whichever chick nabbed him is a pretty smart one.

And I’m over the rooster chick ALREADY. Boo.

I HATE Bone Crushers friends – it’s not dance, it’s gross. There was a crew on America’s Best Dance Crew two or three seasons ago, and the man presented in the previews was in that crew. I can’t remember his name, but I distinctly remember him being one of the only guys in the group who had credible dance talent, so we’ll see how his audition goes…

Okay guys that’s it! You got names and tags.

Next week, I’ll be blogging Tuesday’s auditions late again because I’ll be at my sister’s choir concert, her last one before she becomes a high schooler. :’( Wednesday though I’ll be back for a live review of our last audition city…? Were there four? They held auditions in Atlanta so maybe those will be the last auditions before Vegas maybe? I dunno. J

Okay guys, see you around the way!

So You Think You Can Dance: Remaining Season 9 & Post/Pre-Season Posts (MASSIVE)

Season 9 & Post-Season Stuff

Hey guys!
Trying to make the blog a little easier to navigate so I’ve combined all the leftover season 9 posts (not the critiques, those you can find in the archives) and the Post/Pre-Season Stuff in one large post. I know it’s a lot to sift through, but I’ve made a table of contents, and you can use the find feature (Ctrl-F) to jump right to your desired post. Just press and hold Ctrl & the “F” key at the same time, and type the tag exactly as you see it, and click enter – it may jump to the tag in the table, hit ‘next’ to go to the article. Let me know in the comments or via e-mail if something’s amiss or to give me feedback! This is a LONG post because it’s one post combining a long list of Season 9 & Post/Pre Season Posts. Use the Tags to skip to what sounds interesting! J Thanks everyone!

9Remarks – So You Think You Can Dance: Season 9 Closing Remarks
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to post some closing remarks on the season to give everyone some season 9 closure, especially me. As you all know, hopefully, Eliana and Chehon won this season of So You Think You Can Dance, the series' first ever season with two winners - and this was only 1/2 a happy occasion for me. It shouldn't be a shock, but I really wanted Cyrus to win. I was DEVASTATED when he lost - but in my attempt to remain bias, I won't dwell on it.
This season was awesome, and I really want to thank everyone that viewed the page on Finale night. It was certainly recognition that the blog is going well, and over the course of the off-season I'll continue to post. Things about tour, which I'll be attending, where the dancers are headed and things that they're doing - and anything I hear about next season.
I didn't blog the auditions in season 9, but I've been chatting with some of my regular followers, and it sounds like everyone would like some audition blogging, mostly for the songs, and for recollection of the top 20 from the auditions, but would like it none-the-less, so I'll be developing some sort of format for that, as blogging each audition individually could get both long and tedious.
If you're already missing the season, don't worry. As solo mashups, mastermixes, and dance compilations become available on youtube, I'll try to keep them posted here. I'm trying to put together a video right now, of all of Cyrus' solos from the season. They're just so sick and incredible they deserve to be all on one video for easy viewing.
That's all for now. Please don't hesitate to let me know of anything you find, want to know, or want to see - and I'd be happy to do everything in my power to honor those requests.
THANKS FOR AN AWESOME SEASON!
Jazzy

DYK – So You Think You Can Dance: Did You Know
Hello Friends!
I hope everyone is having a delightful Wednesday!!
There's so much going on with the dancers from this season and seasons past, and I figured I'd start a "Did You Know" section for the offseason to give to tips and hints about where you can see your favorite dancers! I'll maybe update this section once a week, and older DYK's will be lower on the list - I'll always date them. :)
September 26, 2012 - Ryan Ramirez & Carly Rae Jepsen!
I'm sure you ALL remember our dear friend Ryan Ramirez from Season 8 who danced with Ricky prior to the top 10. You may have peeped her on Season 9's finale show - or perhaps you saw her on Ellen, but she is currently on tour with mega superstar Carly Rae Jepsen!

So if you have a chance to see Carly live or if you catch her performing one of her hits on TV - keep an eye out for our own Ryan! Good Luck Ry! Love to see you doin your thing chicka!! :)
September 28, 2012 - Booth, Bones & Your Favorites - OH MY!
Guess who's just been cast to star in a special dance themed episode of the hit TV show bones?
Give up? Your two favorite dancers America! Chehon and Eliana!! This is something you AREN'T going to want to miss. Even if you're not a Bones fan you gotta check this out! Show our faves some love huh!?
Here are the details - get to settin' those DVR's!! http://tvline.com/2012/09/27/bones-season-8-so-you-think-you-can-dance/ Your faves will be joined by Mary Murphy, Tyce Diorio AND Dmitry Chaplin in the episode (I'd watch it for him alone). The episode is set to air this season, but not until closer to Christmas, so keep your pants on! It's coming though - so just check it out okay! :) I'll try and post an actual date when I have it!!
October 3, 2012 - Melanie Moore on Glee!
Oops she did it again! Are you a Gleek? If you are then perhaps you've spotted Season 8 winner Melanie Moore, dancing behind Glee's leading lady in some of her recent routines! Scheduled to dance in the first six episodes of Glee, Mel will perform in her fourth episode tomorrow night at 8pm central, so even if you aren't a Gleek - make sure to give the episode a little watch, and keep an eye out for Your Favorite Dancer - Miss Melanie Moore. See if you can spot her in this video of  Rachel's "Oops I Did It Again" cover!

October 12, 2012 - Love & Sytycd
We've seen our fair share of love and relationships on Sytycd, although most of them are staged, we have the delightful pairs of Tabatha and Napoleon and Jean-Marc & his beautiful wife, who all choreograph for the show regularly. However, there's a NEW So You Think You Can Dance love on the horizon, between season 2's Allison Holker from Season 2 and Season 4's Stephen Boss aka Twitch! Pix started showing up on twitter of the weekend the three (Allison, Twitch & Allison's daughter Sydney) with some sweetheart tweets. These culminated in a tweet from Allison Tuesday night saying "How could this girl be so lucky to have found her KING!! He swept me off my feet and I'm still hanging!!!" Along with this way too sweet picture - who knew?

October 23, 2012 - Tour Starts Tonight
Did you know that the So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 Tour starts tonight! The top ten have been all over twitter talking about how excited and nervous they are! So if you get a chance, hop on on twitter and give a little good luck shout out to the gang! Don't forget to mention @SytycdReviews in your tweet and I'll upload the picture to the blog in the V.I.P section! Rock on you guys!! :)

TDL – So You Think You Can Dance: To Do List

Hey there!
I'm definitely going through withdrawls right now. Blogging the season was such a big part of my life during the season and now that the season is over, I'm going through the regular withdraws of missing my Wednesday night entertainment, and not getting to enjoy watching insanely brilliant dancers every week - with the now ADDED withdraws of not having something to blog about every day.
What I've discovered however, is that I truly LOVE blogging. People have tried to tell me for years that I should take it up, but I've never had something that I'm equally as passionate about that I've felt the need to blog about it, but So You Think You Can Dance Takes the cake. So - while I won't be blogging every day, the off-season will be about several different things. Below I've listed my To-Do List. The list will change regularly, but I won't take things off until they're done - and I promise to include you on EVERYTHING!
Now, as with any To-Do List - I might need your help on some of these things. Things I'm working on alone will be highlighted in blue and things I need help on will be highlighted in red. Please pay extra close attention to the RED things! When something is completed I'll remove it from the "To-Do List" and put it under the "Done List" which is a little further down. I really, really, need your help!
So what's in it for you? Recognition perhaps? Take a screen shot (using the prt sc key on your keyboard and then copy and paste into paint and save) of you completing one of the jobs and e-mail it to the blog at sytycdjrc@gmail.com along with a name you'd like to be known by (I suggest a first name only, or a screen name like Twitter or Google+). I'm going to add a VIP section for all those helping to make this blog what it should be. I'll add your pic and your name, and it will NEVER come down! :)
So pick an item and help me out! The recognition will certainly be worth it in this blog's hay day! If WE get there together!
Thanks so much guys - counting down the days until next season! :)
Jazzy

TO-DO LIST!!

1. SHARE THE SITE!!
Certainly the most important! We need to get this blog on the map! I feel so honored that everytime I post I'm knocking the door of fifty hits, no matter how insignificant the post is. That may not seem like a lot but for someone who is just starting out - it's HUGE, but now that I know people are interested, I want to know who's IN! So we need to share this blog! Post the website to your facebook, twitter, blog, website, e-mail, youtube, anything you can think of! Some of the things lower on the list - will CERTAINLY help as I complete them, but for now the blog is all we got! HELP OUT FRIENDS! Take a screen shot of you sharing the page right now - and you could call the FIRST spot on the VIP list YOURS! You can also help by following the blog - you do need a blogger to do this, but it's quick and easy to sign up - and the more followers the blog has the further up it will appear on search engines when people search for so you think you can dance. :D

4. DID YOU KNOW!!
I've added a new section - not sure how many of you know, called "Did You Know" they're little blurbs about dancers, not just of the past season, but from every season. Things that they're doing, where you can see them, as well as things related to the show, like audition dates, or any info about the upcoming season of the show. I look for things and try and keep up on my own - however, any info you have PLEASE send it! I can share as much as there is to know about the show as possible, only with YOUR help!! E-mail any info you have to the blog at sytycdjrc@gmail.com :)

5. HOW'S IT GOIN??
At the bottom there's a spot to post comments! Please, please, PLEASE, post and tell me what you think of the blog, things you think I can do to improve the blog or make it better FOR YOU! Anything you feel like saying personally, you can e-mail to the blog at sytycdjrc@gmail.com!
P.S. If there's anything specific you would like to see changed or added on the refined layout, please let me know! You can comment, or e-mail the blog at sytycdjrc@gmail.com!

DONE:
2. SOCIAL NETWORKING!! :) Finally got a Twitter and Facebook page up and running for the blog! Go check em out on the "Contact Info" page towards the top left part of the site! Use em to start sharing!

3. NEW LAYOUT!! :) Featuring a new layout with the Sytycd Logo - and an opacity on the blog posts to make things a little easier to look at. Archive is on the left side now, which is easier on the eye. Added a hot pages section at the top, the most viewed three pages will appear here. A few other color nuances and things of that nature, and if you're wondering who's feet we're seeing on the page are Mark's of season 4!! :)
6. ARCHIVING!! :) If you look on the upper left section of the page there's a go-to page called "season 9 archives" it's there that you can find the new archiving method, thanks to Max from AZ. While I'll keep the season 9 posts up for a while longer, I've already made the archives available so that people can start to understand how they work.

7. GO TO PAGES!! :) I've finally developed some Go-To Pages where you can go to find everything all at once, not just at the bottom of the critiques like in season 9. You can find contact info, about me info, voting info - plus some other suggest go-to info that people were looking for like info on the judges, past winners, and dancer profiles. Check em out, tell me what you think!! :)

8. REFINED CRITIQUE LAYOUT!!
Season 10 is still SO far away, but I'm already getting started on a refined layout for next season's critiques that make finding your faves easier, and making the voting info a little easier to understand!

CheckIn – So You Think You Can Dance: Checking In

Hey guys!
I hope everyone has had a FANTASTIC week so far - halfway through! The weekend isn't far behind!!
Somethings you should know!!
  • Added our first person to the V.I.P list a couple of weeks ago! Go check him out, and find the To-Do list to see how you can be added, will be under the September Archive.
  • Also added our first person to our Dance Spotlight list - Travis Bye - he's WAY excellent so you'll want to check him out! He's gone out for Sytycd twice and made it to vegas!
  • Twitter is doing well, but the Facebook, not so well, we need people to go and like the page. www.facebook.com/SytycdReviews Just takes a few seconds. Please do it!! :)
  • The blog is filling up quicker than I thought, so I'll be taking the Season 9 Critiques down in the next few days here, but never fret - if you head over to the Season 9 Archives go-to page you can download the zipped file including all the critiques, the Sytycd Profile pics of your winners Eliana and Chehon AND my Cyrus compilation video - for FREE. It's okay - you can go back to being happy now.
  • Last but not least, while it's nice to have a Sytycd Layout as the background for the blog, it would be really awesome to have a SytycdReviews theme! So if anyone is up to the task - you can design a cool background image for the blog, including the Sytycd logo AND the SytycdReviews name (no logo design yet, that's up to you) and e-mail it to the blog, I just might use it! Anyone who sends a pic will automatically be highlighted on the V.I.P list, just for going to the trouble!!
Well that's about all for now. I'm just getting over being sick for almost two full weeks here, but I have a few days off coming up, so I'll be working to get things updated.
TTYL!

It2Repo – So You Think You Can Dance: A Few Items to Report

Hey there! It's been a little bit - finals and work are keeping me on my toes. Thanksgiving marks a well deserved break for me, and nearly the end of the semester so I'm itching to get there. Bear with me until then as I don't have AS much time to post and promote - of course you could help with the promotion part. ;)
There are a few things I'd like to report - see them below!
First - I attended the So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 tour this last weekend and it was an absolute BLAST! Unfortunately my camera broke just days before the show and my camera phone took HORRIBLE pictures. I'll upload some of the ones that were worth hanging onto, but really the only way to experience this season's tour is personally. If tickets aren't already sold out in your area, please strongly consider getting some - you WONT be disappointed!
If you go to Just Dance's Facebook or Twitter pages you can also learn more information on how you could WIN tickets to tour - go check it out! :)
Still no info on Season 10, but Nigel announced on his Twitter that audition dates and cities for season 10 will be released soon, and then I'm sure info about the season in general will be sure to follow. It's not abnormal for there to be no new season info until after the previous season's tour has wrapped up, so we should be hearing in a few weeks. I'll be certain to keep you posted.
Remeber there are still TONS of ways you can get involved on the blog and on the blog's various pages. We're always looking for new followers on Facebook and Twitter, and anyone willing to give us a shout out will earn themselves a place on our V.I.P. wall!
Once tour is over we really start to get impatient for the new season, so once things calm down a little bit I'll start adding more items to the did you know section, and will be trying to upload a weekly dance clip from this past season to remind you of all the excellent routines this season produced!

Finally here's a delightful article from Yahoo news about three things Season 10 could do to be better. The third one, if any of you have read any of my critiques, is especially important to me, check it out - it's not too long. Which changes do YOU think Sytycd needs to make for Season 10? Comment below! :)

Well friends that's about all. Make sure you're downloading the Season 9 critiques from the Archives go-to page if you want them. I'll be taking them off the blog soon and then you'll ONLY be able to see them in the archives, but then you also get those awesome Eliana and Chehon pics and a personal copy of Cyrus's compilation video for free - what more could you ask for!?
Adios Amigos!
Jazzy

ThxGiv – So You Think You Can Dance: Thanksgiving

Hello All My Friends!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
For those of you unaware, my dad was in a horrible car accident last week, he survived but the event has been life altering. I was hoping to get the blog updated this week, but that's been pretty time consuming. Hopefully I'll have some time tomorrow!
Thanks for your patience!!

10Ago – So You Think You Can Dance: Season 10 A-Go

Hey Guys!
It's been a while right? Down season + consecutive holidays = distractions. :)
But I'm back - and with excellent news! Fox has picked up Season 10 of So You Think You Can Dance, starting with auditions in Austin, Texas the summer of 2013.
There had been scary discussions for a while about the show not getting picked up again due to the lowest ratings the show has ever seen, but Fox determined that people just don't like change and gave the show that touches all of our hearts the benefit of the doubt, and another season of dancers will be rolling in.
While no dates for auditions have been announced yet, the confirmation is exciting to say the least, and with tour officially over for the Season 9 crew, Sytycd Fanatics will be excited to roll out the red carpet for Season 10.

There have also been hints that Season 10 will be similar to Season 9 as opposed to previous seasons, airing once a week instead of two, although critics are saying the main reason Sytycd lost so many viewers Season 9 is due to the constant upset in the show's weekly schedule. MLB & The Olympics in the beginning, switching days towards the end, hopeful fans are praying that the show finds a constant stream and stays in it, allowing viewers to really get into the swing of things.
As always, as soon as I know more, you'll know more and of course if anyone out there has any info I don't, drop me a line - sytycdjrc@gmail.com - you never know what may end up here on the blog!
Thanks Y'all!!

LotsUp – So You Think You Can Dance: Lots of Updates

Hey Everybody!
It's been a while I know, I won't bore you with excuses, but rather get right along to the multitudes of exciting updates in the Sytycd dance world!! :)
First off, for those of you who haven't heard, winners Chehon and Eliana have moved on to bigger and better things! Chehon will be starting a world tour very soon, an Eliana is set to go on tour with Taylor Swift! Way to go Season 9 winners! You're doing us all so proud!
Secondly, have you been following the sweet love story of Allison Holker & Stephen "Twitch" Boss? It culminated in an absolutely beautiful proposal a couple weeks ago, to which Allison happily said 'yes.' She replied a sweet "thanks" to the page's twitter when we congratulated her, saying "I'm so excited."
Cyrus is ALSO doing big things, having just performed with Andre Rucker and Brian Gainer on 106 & Park late last week, when the show invited The Duck to perform. While the song itself was mind-numbingly stupid, it was lovely to see Cyrus back on stage! He's living in L.A. Now and adjusting seems to be going very well.
Lindsay Arnold, one of our two Season 9 ballroom dancers, is going to get to be an instructor on Dancing With the Stars this season, partnering with boxer Victor Ortiz. We've seen Sytycd Vets perform on the show before, most notably Lacey Schwimmer from season 3, but the transfer has NEVER happened this quickly before. We're so proud of Lindsay and can't wait to see her lead her partner to victory! :)
A new movie is in the works, starring Witney Carson and Chehon from Season 9 called "East Side Story" and for all you West Side Story fanatics that are freaking out about the remake, relax. East Side Story is really going to be extremely different, while still very musical and a love story, the cornerstone of the movie will be dancing, and by that I mean, the two main groups of people will be competitive dance teams, not gangs like in the original. While the movie is still a ways out, regular tweets from Witney and other related cast members has us excited early on!
And that's it for now guys! Our dancers are doing big things! If I've missed anything, feel free to drop the page a line, or tweet us - all necessary info is over on the contact page, we'd love to hear from you! :)
Keep calm - the dance season is soon upon us!
Jazzy
P.S. Season 10 auditions are going very well! A good friend of mine was able to go and watch the Chicago auditions and was taken aback by the talent pool, he says it's gonna be a good season! More info soon to follow! :)
